LUCENA CITY - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar presided over the partial opening of the Sariaya by-pass road, which will connect the town to Lucena City, on Thursday, May 20.
As part of the Build build build project, the 7.42-kilometer by-pass road, which began construction in 2014 and is expected to be completed in 2019, will be partially opened to travelers.
Del Rosario Naca, DPWH 2nd District Engineer, Congressman David “Jayjay” Suarez, Sariaya Mayor Marcelo Gayeta and other DPWH staff attended the event.
At the start of the short program, Engr. Naca provided a project briefing for the said build build build project in Sariaya by-pass road.
DPWH Secretary Villar praised Cong. Jay-jay Suarez's diligence in ensuring the completion of the aforementioned initiative, as well as the importance of providing by-pass roads.

Mayor Gayeta, on the other hand is extremely grateful for the project that has been donated to their city, as it will greatly assist their residents and other motorists in avoiding traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, ongoing programs in response to Congressman David "Jay-Jay" Suarez's initiative for the development of the second district and the province of Quezon, which he led in collaboration with Quezon Province Governor Danilo E. Suarez, is expected.
