BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas Provincial Government is about to launch the Supplementary Feeding Program to be held through Help In Motion: Mobile Community Kitchen.

According to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), this is part of the Capitol's ongoing action on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the existing quarantine restrictions in the province.



The purpose of the project is to provide proper food for children and senior citizens from families whose bread winners or family members have been affected by COVID-19 and are in isolation and quarantine facilities.

This was carried out under the leadership of Governor DoDo Mandanas, who set the mobile kitchen to be one of the projects allocating funds from the share of the Province of Batangas as the host community of power plants, including Aboitiz Power Corporation.



The administration of the mobile kitchen will be spearheaded by the PSWDO, in collaboration with Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and Child Development Workers, who are recognized by the governor as accompanying the implementation of Capitol programs and projects in the communities of each town and city. in the province.

According to the PSWDO, it is advisable to have a mobile kitchen to ensure the health care of children and senior citizens, who are considered the most vulnerable sectors of society, and to extend support to them, especially to families who have lost their livelihood. due to virus-related mandatory quarantine and isolation.



According to the Child Development Workers ’forecast, about three thousand beneficiaries from identified barangays or communities will benefit from the project.

The Mobile Community Kitchen is fully equipped for effectively delivering hot meals to its target beneficiaries. It has installed stainless kitchen and cabinets, heavy duty stoves, built-in freezer and generator, electric and exhaust fan, fire extinguisher, and preparation and wash area.

In addition, the entire project also includes welfare goods that include rice, sugar, flour, some cooking ingredients, and a variety of vegetables.
