DILG lauds Antipolo E-Palengke, E-Botika as best practices

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - The Department of the Interior and Local Government awards the Antipolo City Government's E-Palengke and E-Botika initiatives with the 2nd Place of the agency's Sagisag ng Pag-Asa Award.

DILG conffered the award to the city government during an online awarding ceremony held on April 16 as the agency recognizes the LGU's efforts in COVID-19 Response as best practices despite the pandemic.

Due to the strict measures upheld during the earlier days of the lockdown, citizens who were restricted were given alternatives through the online market and pharmacy in order to buy essentials such as groceries and medicine.

In addition to this, delivery fees were shouldered by the government while the services of tricycle drivers who were not allowed to operate during the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) were also given an opportunity to earn money.

“Ang e-Palengke at e-Botika natin ay naging posible at epektibo sa pagtutulungan ng mga iba’t-ibang opisina mula sa Pamahalaang Lungsod at private sector. Dahil po sa magandang koordinasyon natin ay marami po tayong natulungang mga kababayan na nawalan ng trabaho at mga hindi makalabas ng bahay noong panahon ng ECQ,” Mayor Ynares states.

Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares then thanked the workforce behind the lauded e-services were mainly tenants of the City Mall of Antipolo (CMA) Public Market for the E-Palengke and for Mercury Drug for the E-Botika. (PIA-Rizal with reports from Antipolo City Gov Facebook Page)
