ANGONO, Rizal - Vice Mayor Gerry Calderon and Councilor Leah Villalon swept and cleaned the Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF) and the May Puso Eco-Park earlier on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 together with Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).
The validation of the PENRO competition's "Search for the Best Ecological Garden and Solid Waste Management Practice" was held earlier in this province.
The municipality's entry is the stated eco-park in Sitio Labahan, Brgy. San Isidro, which was previously a garbage dump.
However, it is now being repaired and continuously beautified, and it has become a favorite sight and tourist site of bikers and nature lovers, not only of Angono residents, but also of our neighboring towns and Manila.
The eco-park is a collaboration between Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon and Mayor-Vice Gerry's More Advocacy on Environment initiative, Captain Fort Flojo of Brgy. San Isidro, and Kagawad Neil Pion of the Sangguniang Barangay Committee on Environment, as well as the SARANAY environmental group.
