STA ROSA, Laguna - Members of alleged CTGs died during an armed encounter with the authorities, dawn of May 21, 2021 at Bluesky and Greenhouse Transient, Buena Rosa Subdivision, Brgy. Macabling, Sta Rosa, Laguna.
Based on the report, upon entry of the operating team one of the suspects immediately fired shots towards the team that resulted to an armed encounter.
All wounded suspects were immediately brought to Sta Rosa Community Hospital but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. Authorities identified the suspects as Romel Rizza aka Bernie/ Jomar and his two (2) cohorts identified as alias Blue/Billy and alias Dean.
The operation was conducted by the joint operatives of SAF RDB, SAF Force Intelligence and Investigation Division (FIID), RMFB 4A, Santa Rosa CPS, Laguna PPO, and AFP Intel Unit by virtue of Standing Warrant of Arrests.

Initial investigation disclosed that Romel Rizza was the Commanding Officer of Regional Special Operations Group tasked by the CPP Central Committee thru the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee to carry-out assassination to NTF ELCAC talking heads. Accordingly, Romel Rizza is also the Commanding Officer of the Main Regional Guerilla Unit responsible for carrying out tactical offensives against AFP/PNP units in Region 4-A and MIMAROPA.
