BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas Provincial Government successfully launched the “Halina Ika’y Magtanim” Program, initiated by Governor Hermilando “Dodo” I. Mandanas recently.
The online project launching was spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, under the leadership of Dr. Rodrigo M. Bautista, Jr.
Municipal and City Agriculturists of the province, presidents of the Provincial Federation of National Mannalon-Maguuma-Magbabaul-Farmers of the Philippines (P4MPs), Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs), 4H-Clubs, Agricultural and Fishery Councils (AFCs) and representatives from the Philippine Coconut Authority agency participated and joined.
This project supports the PLANT.PLANT.PLANT Program of the Department of Agriculture.
Governor Mandanas encouraged the attendees to unite in the development of agriculture and together fight the problem caused by the pandemic by planting and ensuring that there is nutritious and sufficient food served at the table of every family.
In response to the problem of farmers, particularly in marketing, he said the provincial government is also trying to immediately implement the plan Regional Food Terminal in Batangas City and Agricultural Trading Center in Ibaan, where not only Batangueños will benefit, if not also the neighboring provinces.
Agricultural partners from the local governments of the province also easily conveyed their requests, suggestions, and solidarity to the Capitol for the further development of agriculture in the Province of Batangas.
