BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas Provincial Government has temporarily closed the Batangas Provincial Sports Complex in Bolbok, Batangas City, to the public since March 22, 2021, as part of ongoing precautions against the COVID-19 virus, with some buildings in the facility currently serving as an isolation facility for asymptomatic patients.
The Provincial Assistance for Community Development (PACD) Office, the office that runs the Provincial Sports Complex, has sought the public's understanding regarding the temporary closure of sports facilities here, including the sports coliseum, swimming pool, grandstand, and track oval.
According to an interview with PACD Youth and Sports Division Chief Arthur Caguitla, the steps taken by their office, led by PACD Department head Fredesvinda Mendoza, in collaboration with the General Services Office (GSO), barangay officials of Bolbok and Sta. Rita, Batangas City, and other auxiliary offices of the Capitol, also due to the ongoing renovations to the facilities of the Sports Complex so that it can be more beneficial to the public once it reopens.
It will be recalled that the Department of Education (DepEd) holds sports programs such as District Meet, Unit Meet, Division Meet, Provincial or Inter-Division Meet.

The said facility is currently under the care of the PACD, in collaboration with the GSO and the Provincial Public Order and Safety Department (PPOSD), at the behest of Governor DoDo Mandanas.
