ANGONO, Rizal - Daisy Aguillon, the overall coordinator of BUSILAK, has launched an environmental work, namely the cleaning of canals and streets of Macapagal, Aguinaldo, and Villaluz in Brgy. Kalayaan on June 9, 2021, at the request of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon and More Advocacy on Environment and Linis Ilog at Kanal.
The organization works with the local government's More Advocacy on Environment, Zero Waste, and River Cleanup programs, which are led by Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon and Mayor-Vice Gerry Calderon.
Angono is a Hall of Fame recipient in the Provincial Government's Clean and Green Program/Ynares Eco-System program, which is led by Gov. Nini Ynares.
Angono is also a GOLD Awardee of the DENR and DILG in the Manila Bay clean-up award for cleaning and maintaining waterways adjacent to and surrounding Manila Bay.
This is the LGU Compliance Assessment for the 2020 Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program, based on the recognition of proper solid waste management, liquid waste management, informal settler families, and the local government's information, education, and campaign materials.
The constant cleaning of the river and canals, as well as dredging or trenching of the Angono River, are the reasons why the river does not overflow during storms or heavy rains, which is important for protecting and preserving people's lives and property.
