Delta variant 40% more transmissible and deadly than the alpha variant

The delta variant that slipped out of India is more contagious than other strains of Covid-19 to date.
According to Health Secretary Matt Hancock, the variant is a concern in the UK where it now comprises 91% of new cases.

Indonesia's surge of cases, Malaysia's patients arriving dead in hospitals ( BID) before being admitted, increasing number of cases in Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan are in high probability, caused by this variant.

What is appalling in these events is the rise of cases at a younger age. President Biden said that "Delta Covid variant is particularly dangerous for young people. CDC Dir. Rochelle Walensky warned that the Delta variant might become the dominant variant in the US.

Meantime, late in May, in the Philippines, 13 cases were confirmed to have been of the Delta variant and threatening the "face to face" school reopening this August.

There is a worldwide concern for the Delta variant because some current vaccines might become ineffective and would need some form of booster shots.
