BATANGAS CITY - The Montemaria Shrine is set to open in Barangay Pagkilatan, Batangas City as an isolation facility for COVID-19 patients.
In an interview with the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Rosvilinda Ozaeta, three floors of the 17-storey Montemaria International Pilgrimage and Conference Center should be used free of charge, in accordance with the directive of Gov. DoDo Mandanas, in connection with the ongoing campaign of the Province of Batangas against the new coronavirus.
According to Dr. Ozaeta, the feedback from the Department of Health (DOH) was positive after its inspection in the said area.
The location of Monte Maria is said to be very beautiful, which is the main function of the separation facility due to the fresh air and airy environment.
It is estimated that 200 patients can stay at the facility, where the provincial government will provide the necessary equipment and food for patients and medical staff.
DOH accreditation is awaited to conduct the Temporary Treatment Monitoring Facility (TTMF) of such a facility.
