Rizal musician Omshanti Panlilio wins 1st prize in USA Classical Music International Competition

ANGONO, Rizal - "I'm happy to share to all my friends that I got 99% points from this event to secure a 1st (FIRST PRIZE) win at the USA Classical Music International Competition held in May 2021 by IYMC International Youth Music Competitions - IYMC,".

Omshanti Panlilio of Angono, Rizal, won first place in the USA Classical Music International Competition's Open Category: Mixed Age, which was held in May 2021, and the winners were announced last week, according to his official Facebook page.



Musicians from 52 countries joined the competition. These include Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Lithuania, Malta, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia,

Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, USA, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Cuba, Israel, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malta, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Qatar.



The jury is composed of 17 musicians coming from different countries.

They include Antonio Rugolo (Italy); Dr. Kevin Zhao (China); Dr. Chaerin Kim (South Africa, USA); Dr. Vera Ilyushina ( Russia, USA); Shane Goddal (South Africa); Huu Mai (USA); Mary McGowan (USA); Pieter van Zyl (South Africa); Dr. Isiah T. Bell (USA); Maria Maximova (Macedonia); Jonas-Charles Brown (USA); Nina Weinfeld (Sweden, France); Istvan I. Szekely (Spain, Hungary); Lynne Lindner (United Kingdom); Misha Stefanuk (Russia, USA); Eva Slata (Australia, Italy); and Dr. William Earvin.



Seanti's winning piece is titled "Clarinet Concerto No.2 in E-flat Major Opus 74" by Carl Maria von Weber.

"I dedicate this certificate to my former teacher, Mr. San Antonio Victorino from University of The Philippines College of Music, Sir Brooks, thank you and I miss you.

"Special thanks to my Family and Friends who always support me, I Love you All to my videographer Kuya Jhim Padilla, salamat po and to my Head/Superior in work for letting me to join this event," Seanti said.

Seanti is currently the resident conductor of Angono Youth Band and works as assistant conductor of the Presidential Security Group Band. (with a report from Angono Rizal News Online)
