Barangays in Los Baños receive Safety Seal Certification
 LGU Los Baños

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – As part of the continuous effort of LGU Los Baños in ensuring safety protocol adherence of establishments, inspections are being conducted in barangays to assess whether they qualify for the Safety Seal Certificate.

Batong Malake was first among the 14 barangays in the town to be awarded with the safety seal followed by the barangays of Malinta, Bayog and Baybayin.

This Safety Seal Certification Program is a scheme affirming that these government facilities have been inspected and found compliant to the health standards and in using a contact tracing application particularly the LB LAB ID.

“I am grateful and honored to receive the first ever Safety Seal Certification among other 13 Barangays in the Municipality of Los Baños for our thorough implementation of COVID-19 safety and health protocols for 15 months now since the pandemic started,” Barangay Chief Ian Kalaw said.

On behalf of the Sangguniang Barangay of Batong Malake, the chief extended gratitude towards the Municipal Government of Los Baños (MGLB) through the Department of the Interior and Local Government of Los Baños (DILG-LB) for approving their certification as this validates their hard work and efforts, along with the staff and barangay public safety officers (BPSO), in terms of implementing and complying with the minimum public health standards to guarantee public safety.

The Safety Seal Certification Team has been conducting regular inspections to different establishments as well as inspections upon application and request.

Starting on July 7, 2021, the team will regularly be inspecting establishments every Monday, Wednesday and Friday prioritizing those who applied for the certification.

Mechanisms for complaints and reports on the incompliance of establishments to safety protocols were already put in place. Complaints may be reported through the Municipal Government of Los Baños website, official Facebook page and the Municipal Treasury Office landline number: (049) 530-2584/530-2818 loc 101.

The establishment owner will be given 48 hours to explain their side based on the report and if were not able to do so during the given period, their safety seal or business permit, if not safety seal certified, shall be revoked.

All establishments in the town are encouraged to follow the health and safety protocols and seek for the approval of their safety seal certification.
