BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas Provincial Government, through the Office of Provincial Community Development Assistance (PACD), continues to work to help Batangueño workers who have been affected and lost their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic on the economy.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted the distribution of wages for 443 beneficiaries of the Employment Assistance to Our Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) from 21 to 25 June 2021, from the initiative of the Office of Sen. Emmanuel “Joel” Villanueva.
PACD partners in the implementation of TUPAD with Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Managers of Balayan, Calatagan, Lian, Taal, Bauan, Lobo, San Luis, San Pascual, Alitagtag, Balete, Cuenca, Malvar, Mataas na Kahoy, Sta. Teresita, Sto. Tomas City, Tanauan City, Padre Garcia, San Jose, San Juan, Taysan, and Lipa City.
About ₱ 1.9 Million worth of emergency employment assistance was allocated for the beneficiaries, who conducted disinfection activities in their respective communities.
They underwent an orientation, and were provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), such as face masks, face shields, long sleeves and hats to protect themselves against the COVID-19 virus.
