PAGBILAO, QUEZON – Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic of Pagbilao, Quezon, and PSA Field Supervisor Gemma Losloso led the "Ceremonial Launching" of the Philippine Identification System Philsys Registration on July 8, 2021, at Pagbilao National High School (PNHS).
This work is a national government initiative whose main goal is to provide ID identification to every Filipino individual via the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
According to Losloso, Step 1 Registration is the house-to-house registration where the demographic information of an individual is taken. Meanwhile, Step 2 Registration is the taking of biometrics, fingerprints, iris and photos that can all be seen on the National ID Card.
All Filipinos who have already registered will be able to use it as Proof of Identity in private and public transactions in the future.
He also stated that residents from the Barangays of Pinagbayanan, Mayhay, and Mapagong who have already completed Step 1 Registration will be given priority for PSA registration.
Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic formally reconciled the content of the agreement for the Philippine Identification System Philsys Registration between the Local Government of Pagbilao and the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Mayor Palicpic also assured that the LGU is not simply a collaborator because it recognizes the need for this work; the Mayor has hired two Marshals to ensure that registrants are kept at a safe distance, wear face masks, and adhere to enforced protocols.
Municipal Administrator Engr. Ian T. Palicpic, Councilor Manny Luna, Councilor Aldrien Calabia, PB Lorna Lusterio of Barangay Mapagong, PB Renan Salles of Barangay Pinagbayanan, and Principal II Elmer C. Ravina of PNHS also attended the event and granted permission to use the school for the Phil ID Registration Process.
