[Let's wait for the memo if basketball will be allowed.]"
This is the statement of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon at the flag raising ceremony on morning of July 12, 2021.
The mayor's statement was also prompted by the youth and basketball enthusiasts, particularly regarding the GCQ status, which is the quarantine status of Rizal Province, including Angono.
Gustuhin man nating payagan pero mahirap makasuhan [In terms of basketball, we'll have to wait for the president's memo. We want to allow it, but it's difficult to be sue.]," said Mayor Jeri Mae.
The mayor also stated that while children under the age of five are permitted to go outside, the parent must accompany the child on the walk.
Mayor Jeri Mae further stated that the Department of Health has not provided any new vaccine to Angono as of Monday. The vaccine was last given out by the Department of Health on June 23, she said.
Ayoko naman sabihin laging maghintay," Mayor said.
This was confirmed by Angono Municipal Health Office administrator and nurse Ma'am Arlene Ang Reyes.
Reyes also reported that nine (9) bed-ridden patients were vaccinated by the Health Office at the home of those vaccinated.
Reyes also reminded those who registered online, particularly those who registered in April, to call the E-Perkhidmatan May Puso (ESMP).
Currently, 8,877 doses have been vaccinated while 13,631 are on the Waiting List.
Of the 8,877 vaccinated in Angono, 2,508 were 2nd dose and complete while 6,369 were 1st dose, based on the July 9, 2021 latest report/record of the Angono Municipal Health Office.
There are 1,359 "unutilized" Sinovac vaccines but they are reserved for the 2nd dose so that the 1st dose will not be suspended/exceeded for one month.
Mayor Jeri Mae and the Angono Health Office previously explained that any new quantity received by the municipality from the DOH is divided to ensure that the second dose is available one month after the first.
Angono town has a population of approximately 120,000.
Meanwhile, on July 11, 2021, the town of Angono made history because there are only five (5) active cases - the lowest number since the pandemic began one year and four months ago.
The previous six (6) minimum number of active cases reached by the town were recorded on February 22, 2021.
The highest number of active cases so far recorded by the town on April 21, 2021 was 236. (with report from Angono Rizal News Online)
