BATANGAS CITY - On July 29, Mayor Beverley Dimacuha presided over the awarding of the safety seal in SM City Batangas with the City Safety Seal Inspection and Certification Committee.
The seal serves as proof that the mall meets the minimum public health standards (MPHS) outlined in Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 21-01, also known as the “Implementing Guidelines of the Safety Seal Certification Program of various government departments.”
The group visited the mall last month and witnessed its compliance with the MPHS checklist as well as the strict implementation of health and safety protocols against COVID-19 for consumer safety.
The mall's isolation area for customers and employees, the assignment of safety officers, tenant exhaust systems for proper ventilation, public announcements inside the mall to remind protocols, and the Trace Together App developed by SM Supermalls themselves are all major points.
Moreover, 97 percent of their employees have already been immunized against COVID-19.
SM City Batangas is grateful for the award and recognition for the steps they have taken to protect not only mallgoers, but also tenants and employees.
