CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The number of active Covid-19 cases in Laguna province has risen to 6,824, according to its provincial government.
Based on the latest data from the Laguna Provincial Health Office on Monday, August 23, the total number of people affected by infectious diseases in the entire province has reached 61,850 since the pandemic erupted last year.
Calamba City leads with the highest active cases now at 1,329.
The number of active Covid-19 cases in the towns of Cavinti, Rizal and Famy remains low.
The number of patients cured of the disease continues to rise and now stands at 53,261 while the number of deaths due to Covid-19 is 1,765.
According to Governor Ramil Hernandez, the government is still closely monitoring Covid-19 cases in the province amid the rapidly increasing number of those affected by the disease. (with reports from MO, PIA4A)
