BATANGAS CITY - The city government achieved a 91% efficiency grade in the Government Management Program Energy Audit Report made by the Department of Science and Technology Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) on July 26.
The energy audit is in response to RA 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, which aims to determine each LGU's electricity consumption as well as ways to save more.
According to Federico Del Pozo Jr., team leader of the energy audit team, 65 local government units (LGUs) are scheduled to visit and inspect.
He said, based on the auditing they did, the Batangas city government got the highest grade in the entire province.
Some of the basis for such audit are Office Policy, Best Practices for Electricity Conservation and Best Practices for Fuel Conservation.
Erick Anthony Sanohan, Local Economic
Investments and Promotions Officer, accepted the ribbon and certificate from DOST on behalf of Mayor Beverley Dimacuha.
Meanwhile, Oliver Gonzales, Enercon Officer City Environment and Natural Resources Officer, has been appointed as the city's point person for the group's next visit. (BPDC, PIA Batangas and report from PIO Batangas City)
