TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite — The Cavite State University (CvSU) main campus in the municipality of Indang is opening its facilities to serve as temporary treatment and monitoring facility for Covid-19 patients in the city, the University confirmed on Monday, August 23.
This is in response to the alarming rate of transmission of Covid-19 cases with the detection of confirmed Delta and Beta variants in the town.
The Indang Municipal Health Office reported the total number of active cases in the municipality has reached 218 as of Monday with an average of 20 cases recorded daily.
The facility will augment the shortage in isolation and medical facilities such as the Oplan Kalinga at Hacienda Isabela in Brgy. Carasuchi, and the Carmona Mega Isolation Facility of Region 4A which all reached the maximum bed capacity for Covid-19 patients.
Mayor Perfecto Fidel personally inspected the opening of the facility together with CvSU President Dr. Hernando D. Robles.
“The challenges we will face in the ongoing fight against COVID19 may be heavy and long, but with our continued unity and action as one people, we will be able to do all this if we continue to exercise concern and unity,” said Fidel.
The chief executive thanked the CvSU and its officials for the initiative and other assistance that the State University extended to the local government unit amid the ongoing pandemic. — Ruel Francisco, PIA Cavite
