CALAMBA CITY, Laguna - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has provided the Siniloan town government with P5 million for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged or Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
“Sa patuloy na pagsusumikap ng ating Punumbayan Rainier Acero Leopando, Pangalawang Punumbayan Patrick Ellis Go at bumubuo ng Sangguniang Bayan, ang bayan ng Siniloan ay muling pinagkalooban ng ating butihing DOLE Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello ng halagang P5,000,000 para sa mga kababayan nating nais makasama sa programa ng DOLE TUPAD,” the local government said on its official Facebook page.
The Department of Labor's TUPAD program is a community-based package of assistance that provides unemployed, underemployed, and seasonal workers with emergency employment for a period of 10 days, not to exceed 30 days, depending on the class to be employed.
Underemployed workers, self-employed individuals, recently unemployed individuals, and senior citizens are all eligible to participate in the program as long as they have a medical certificate confirming their fitness to work.
Those who did not participate are 4Ps beneficiaries, SAP 1 and 2 waitlisted beneficiaries, and those who have already received DOLE TUPAD benefits.
On August 25, the Siniloan town government distributed DOLE TUPAD to 500 residents in the town square. (with reports from CPG, PIA Laguna)
