BARAS, Rizal - A doll version of Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, was created by two siblings from Baras, Rizal.
Lorichelle Celestra Alapad and Lorily Celestra Darag, the twins behind Carika Dolls, stated in a statement that they wanted to offer Diaz a doll version of herself.
Lorichelle claims the "Hidilyn Doll" stands 15 inches tall and wields a barbell. The gold medal on the handcrafted doll is identical to the one Diaz received at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. It features a blue jersey, white sneakers, and wrist bands similar to those worn by Diaz in Tokyo.
Carika Dolls, which are formed of rubber foams, are a trademark of the twins. Pope Francis and President Duterte are two of their most well-known works. (with reports from Nel Andrade/Manila Bulletin)
