TERESA, Rizal -The Teresa local government has distributed more than 1.6 million worth of financial assistance to stall owners whose livelihoods were affected by the fire incident that hit the public market in Teresa, Rizal last August 11 that engulfed their town market recently.
According to the local government, more than 147 stall owners were immediately given financial assistance to help them gradually recover from the tragedy they went through.
Mayor Raul Palino thanked the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for the food packs provided by the family to the fire victims in their town.
On August 23, Go expressed his concern for the 162 fire victims by dispatching a team to distribute financial assistance to help them in recovering from the damage.
The fire victims received financial assistance, meals, masks, face shields, and vitamins during the distribution. Some recipients were also given new shoes and bicycles.
Select beneficiaries were given computer tablets, which are an essential tool for their children who are enrolled in classes through the blended learning approach used in schools.
Meanwhile, staff from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided additional financial assistance to help the victims recover from the fire's damages.
The residents were also given fresh vegetables and medicines by the Departments of Agriculture and Health, respectively.
Furthermore, qualified individuals who have been evaluated by the staff of the Department of Trade and Industry will be provided with livelihood assistance. (with reports from PIA)
