GMA, Cavite - General Mariano Alvarez Mayor Walter D. Echevarria Jr. informed on social media, his official resignation as mayor on Tuesday, August 3.

According to his statement, the decision was made because of his health condition.

After that, he urged the people of GMa to continue to support their local government especially its future programs.
