LUCENA CITY - Quezon Governor Danilo E. Suarez expressed his desire to provide health workers with the benefit of the Provincial Government's response for their continued performance of their duties despite the risk posed by COVID-19 in a message delivered at the flag raising ceremony of the staff and oath - taking of the new Doctors of Quezon Medical Center (QMC) led by Chief of Hospital Dr. Rolando Padre on August 2, 2021.
This is in response to some health workers who are leaving QMC in droves, with patients and staff suffering as a result of low wages, according to some nurses.
He stated that it has yet to be granted due to the unapproved budget and the Province's subservience to the re-enacted budget.
And they're asking Quezon Governor Danilo E. Suarez to come to see the conditions they're working in while being understaffed, underpaid, and drowning in COVID-19 patients.
President Rodrigo R. Duterte signed the AO “to recognize the heroic and invaluable contribution of our health workers throughout the country, who bravely and unselfishly risk their lives and health by being at the forefront of national efforts to respond to the pandemic.”
Under AO 42, the grant of the Covid-19 SRA shall be pro-rated based on the number of days that the frontline health workers physically report for work in a month, as certified by the head of the hospital, laboratory, or medical and quarantine facility, or his/her authorized representatives, reckoned from Sept. 15, 2020 until June 30, 2021.
Meanwhile, as part of this the said event, Governor Suarez ensured that the health and safety protocols in place in Quezon Province were followed, and he was accompanied by Provincial Administrator / Agriculturist Roberto Gajo and Human Resource Head Rowell Napeas to the event.
At the same time, the Provincial Planning and Development Council, led by Odesa Perez, raised the Provincial Government flag in front of the Old Capitol Building, which was attended by staff from various Capitol offices.
The Governor also attended the Remembering a son of Tiaong, General Sixto Mercado Tiongco (Gen. Ye Fei) ceremony, which took place on July 31st, alongside People's Republic of China Ambassador H. E. Huang Xilian, Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. Dr. Henrry Lim Bon Liong, Cong. David “Jay-Jay” Suarez, Tiaong Mayor Ramon Preza
Today, Governor Suarez continues to take steps to ensure that every service and program is provided for the provinces.
