ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — The Antipolo city government immediately subjected a 9-unit apartment building in Ursula St. Milagros Subdivision, Barangay Dalig to granular lockdown after a rapid outbreak of Covid-19 in its households.

According to Mayor Andrea Ynares, they received a report on the current situation of the residents so the City Health Office conducted an immediate investigation to prevent the spread of the infectious disease.

Based on the investigation, it was determined that two units of the apartment tested positive for Covid-19 and there are still suspected cases in four other units of the said apartment.

“Nailipat na ang mga COVID-19 patients sa ating isolation facility habang mino-monitor naman ng ating City Health Office ang kalagayan ng mga suspected cases,” the mayor assured.

In addition, the local government is also preparing a swab test on other residents to ensure their safety and is also preparing food packs for their 14-day lockdown.

Mayor Ynares also reminded the countrymen to be doubly careful against the disease so as not to increase the number of areas that need to be subjected to granular lockdown.

So far, 726 active Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Antipolo City after 98 new cases were recorded on Monday, August 31.
