CALAMBA CITY, Laguna - After 25 employees at Laguna Medical Center tested positive for COVID-19, the hospital's management has called on the Department of Health (DOH) for more nurses.
Other hospital staff, in addition to the nurses, have been placed under quarantine because to the possibility of exposure to those who have been recognized as COVID positive.
According to Dr. Christina Marquez, the head of the hospital's infectious disease section, it has had a significant influence on the hospital's medical service because many nurses in the hospital left for other countries and resigned because of the new opportunity, which has yet to be replaced.
“Humihingi kami ng tulong po kung pwede makapag-augment ang ating Department of Health kasi bukod sa kulang sa nurse dahil sa naka quarantine, madami pa rin po kaming nurses na umalis at nag-resign na din po, may mga offer sa ibang bansa. Hindi pa po napapalitan. Ang daming opening pero wala pong kapalit,” said Dr. Marquez in his interview with ABS-CBN News.
Personnel have also tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. They got Covid-19 from the community, not from the hospital, according to Dr. Marquez.
Despite this, the administration aims to address the problem of their hospital, which is also at capacity because to the high number of Covid-19 patients. (with report from ABS-CBN News)
