LUCENA CITY - The first Barangayanihan Housing Project of the Lucena PNP was recently turned over under the leadership of PLt. Col. Romulo “Bong” Albacea represented by Deputy Chief of Police PMAJ Clarence John Erese, PLt. Delilah Tapulayan and PSSg Ana Paral to their selected beneficiaries who came from Barangay Salinas.
The said turnover was carried out in conjunction with the blessing of the said house of the said beneficiary Abelardo “Abby” Marlinga, a seventy -eight (78) year old resident of Purok Kapisanan 1 in the said barangay.
In an interview with TV12 Balita with PSSg. Ana Paral, she shared the story behind their first housing project.
According to Paral, in just 5 days, the police corps, barangay government and barangay tanod worked together to beautify what was then Marlinga's patchwork house which is now cemented and properly equipped.
The purpose of the city police is to help their beneficiary so that somehow he can experience a comfortable life.
Deputy Chief PMAJ Clarence John Erese said that although this is the first time that they have carried out this type of project, he is sure that it will be followed.
After the said blessing by Rev. Father Virgilio J. Nave also donated household utensils and some grocery items that came from goodwill.
The turnover was attended by some Lucena PNP policemen, members of the Barangay Government, members and officials of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo and some close to Marlinga.
He said he would not have thought that after a few years of living in this small and patchy house, he would be able to sleep without fear because his little home is beautiful.
In the message of PSSg. Ana Paral, thanked everyone who gave help and donations to make their project a success, he said they will never tire of supporting the projects and programs of the Lucena PNP.
