BARAS, Rizal (PIA) — The Department of Agrarian Reform handed certificate of land ownership awards (CLOAs) to at least 11 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) from Barangay Macabud in Montalban, Rizal.
In a ceremonial turnover in Barangay Pinugay, Baras, Rizal on September 17, a total of 8.56 hectares in Barangay Macabud, Rizal were given to 6 male and 5 female ARBs.
DAR Secretary John Castriciones led the ceremonial distribution of farm implements and solar-powered irrigation to Tanay and Baras farmers, respectively, as well as the awarding of land to beneficiaries.
CLOA beneficiary Jomar Ucag claims he has been farming since he can remember, even before completing a college degree in agriculture.
Former DAR scholar Ucag expresses gratitude to the government for the property, which he and other recipients will now be able to fully utilize.
“We’re happy because the land we plant on is now our own,” said Ucag.
The CLOAs were registered with the Registrar of Deeds Marikina Branch on June 30, 2021, and given to DAR on August 4.
The department also underlines that agricultural lands in Rizal province are still available for distribution to qualified beneficiaries.
