LUCENA CITY - Mayor Roderick “Dondon” Alcala was honored by DepEd Lucena and the Alternative Learning System (ALS) for his ongoing advocacy and support for alternative learning.
Mrs. Christine Joy Mayuga and Mrs. Mylene Dapol, ALS Education Program Specialists, personally presented the Mayor with a plaque of recognition on Monday, August 9th of this year.
This is in conjunction with the "Online ALS Caravan" held on August 5th, which recognized the program's partners in the ongoing flow of education, particularly to the Lucenahin.
He also stated that it is a symbol of gratitude and recognition for his invaluable contribution and commendable service as an ALS Stakeholder, which has resulted in the successful implementation of the department's programs and projects aimed at providing a better future for young students.
The mayor accepted the award mentioned to the ALS representative and thanked them profusely for recognizing him.
The mayor also expressed his continued support for them, saying that he is always willing to assist in any way he can because it is for the future of the city's students. (with reports from PIO Lucena/K.Monfero)
