BATANGAS CITY —Strict Covid-19 health and safety protocols will be implemented and monitored in businesses, restaurants, cafeterias, street food stalls, and other locations throughout the city in order to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases.
During the resumption of the local Inter-Agency Task Force on Sunday, August 22, Mayor Beverley Dimacuha directly ordered this to the personnel of the Batangas City PNP, CDRRMO, EBDMT Monitoring Team, and Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO).
The order was carried out after several restaurants, including street food stalls, had crowds and other issues related to safety protocols.
According to Dir. Esther Dator of the Department of Interior and Local Government - Batangas City, only 20% of the venue capacity is allowed for indoor dining, with an additional 10% allowed if it has a safety seal, and 50% allowed for al fresco or outdoor dining.
Dator and ABC President Dondon Dimacuha will remind the barangays that mass gatherings such as birthday parties, drinking, and especially more lambs are still prohibited.
At the meeting, it was suggested that city government employees working from home would assist the monitoring team in monitoring health and safety protocols in the barangays.
Due to the high number of cases of familial infection, City Health Officer Dr. Rose Barrion will also implement health protocols in the home.
As of August 21, the city had recorded 7,278 total COVID-19 cases, with 375 active cases, according to Barrion.
He also stated that 43,289 people from various priority groups in the city have been fully vaccinated. (with report from Batangas City PIO)
