TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — The filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) for the 2022 Philippine elections in Cavite saw incumbent officials running for reelection, post-switching between couple officials, as well as other new developments in the political scene.
Cavite Governor Jose Victor ‘Jonvic’ Remulla who was first to file COC on October 1 seeks a second term.
Remulla filed his COC at the Provincial Comelec office together with Tagaytay City Councilor Athena Tolentino who will be running for Vice-Governor.
Remulla’s former running mate Vice Governor Jolo Revilla will run for Cavite First District representative.
In Carmona town, incumbent Mayor Attorney Roy Loyola will run as Cavite 5th District representative, while his wife, Congresswoman Dahlia Loyola, will run for municipal mayor.
Meanwhile, incumbent 8th District Representative Abraham Tolentino filed his certificate of candidacy for Tagaytay City Mayor while his wife, Mayor Agnes Tolentino, filed her COC for 8th District representative.
2nd and 3rd district representatives, Strike Revilla and Alex Advincula are both running for mayoral seats of the cities of Bacoor and Imus respectively.
Incumbent chief executives Randy Salamat, Redel Dionisio, Perfecto Fidel, Jasmin Maligaya-Bautista, Dino Reyes-Chua, Voltaire Ricafrente, Yuri Pacumio, Lamberto Bambao, Gemma Lubigan, and Jenny Austria-Barzaga have filed CoCs for re-election in their respective cities and municipalities.
The Dualan brothers of the municipality of Naic filed their CoCs with Councilor Raffy Dualan for mayoral post while outgoing mayor Jun Dualan will run for Vice Mayor.
Emmanuel Maliksi and wife Jelyn Maliksi filed their certificates of candidacy as the first nominee of the Pinagbuklod na Filipino Para sa Bayan (Buklod Filipino) party-list, and Imus City Councilor respectively.
