BATANGAS CITY - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) opened its third PhilSys registration center for city residents today, October 4, at the Waltermart Calicanto branch.
The PSA aims for all Filipinos to have a national ID for identification and to speed up government transactions.
Registration for the national ID system, as well as eye (iris) and finger scans or biometrics, will be completed here to ensure a person's identity.
Their barangay officials will summon their residents on the scheduled day.
This is done to prevent an influx of people and to ensure that health protocols are followed in the ongoing registration.
Today is the day for residents of barangay Calicanto.
The first PSA registration center is located at the Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services (OCVAS) and the second is in SM City Batangas.
PSA Provincial Officer Raul Tolentino, Local Economic Investment Promotions (LEIP) Officer Erick Anthony Sanohan on behalf of Mayor Beverley Dimacuha and Waltermart Mall Administrator Abigail Mondala attended the event.
