TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Tanza Mayor Yuri Pacumio met with religious leaders from 30 Christian fellowship groups to encourage their members to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
The meeting was the mayor's first public appearance since testing positive for Covid-19 and recovering from a mild case.
“With the protection from the CoViD-19 vaccine, I only had two days of colds which did not develop into cough and fever,” said Mayor Pacumio.
The mayor and Rural Health Officer Dr. Ruth Punzalan explained and answered religious leaders' questions about the challenges they face and may face with CoVID-19.

According to Dr. Punzalan, the most recent CoViD-19 update shows more than 7,000 confirmed cases since the pandemic began, with the number continuing to rise at an alarming rate, possibly due to the prevalence of the Delta variant.
Following the meeting, the local government distributed rice and relief packs to the religious leaders to supplement their daily needs. (with reports from Balitang Tanzeño)
