LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Five schools in Quezon province are among the 90 schools identified by the Department of Education for pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes beginning November 15.
These schools are Lagmak Elementary School, Lumutan Elementary School, and Dinigman Elementary School in General Nakar town, Pablo D. Maningas National High School in Quezon town, and Tamulaya Elementary School in Polillo, according to the DepEd.
According to DepEd, these schools have undergone a thorough examination by the agency and the Department pf Health and have permission from the local government. It also has retrofitted facilities and students have the corresponding permission from parents.
“Sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Education sa Department of Health, ang mga nasabing paaralan ay sumailalim sa mabusising pagsusuri upang masukat ang kahandaan at kaligtasan ng lugar kung nasaan ang paaralan,” DepEd said.
The class will last only two months. Under this system, only a section with 5 to 10 students can take classes to ensure government public health protocols such as physical distancing are followed.
The agency added that students attend only three hours a day in schools that are part of the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes.
DepEd, on the other hand, ensured that the said schools underwent thorough verification because it has guidelines that must be followed in line with the department's standards before selecting them for the reopening of schools in the country. (with report from DEPED)
