Cavite LGUs commence pediatric vaccination


TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Several cities and municipalities in Cavite joined the rest of the country in simultaneously rolling out the vaccination program to minors aged 12-17 years old on Wednesday, November 3.

The expanded pediatric vaccination rollout came after the successful vaccination of minors in the National Capital Region on October 15, 2021.



In Noveleta town, children with comorbidities accompanied by their parents lined up at the Primark Town Center vaccination center in Barangay Magdiwang to get the first dose of their Covid-19 vaccine.

Other municipalities which started their pediatric vaccination meanwhile, include Tanza which has inoculated 30 minors, Carmona with 30 minors, Noveleta with 60 minors, and Mendez-Nuñez town which has inoculated 457 adolescents.



Trece Martires City also rolled out its vaccination program for the pediatric population with 50 minors given with the first shot of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.

The local governments of General Mariano Alvarez and General Emilio Aguinaldo also joined other towns in Cavite in commencing its inoculation program for minors.



According to Aguinaldo Rural Health Unit, children aged 12 – 14 years are included in the community-based immunization for the anti-measles, tetanus, diptheria including the anti hpv/anti- cervical cancer for girls aged 14 years and will subsequently be scheduled for the Covid-19 vaccination after the said cbi activities.

The City Government of Tagaytay announced it will begin vaccinating minors on Friday, November 5 while the pediatric vaccination in Imus will commence on Monday, November 8.

To prepare for the city’s pediatric vaccination rollout to be held on Monday, November 8, the city government of Imus held a simulation exercise at the Ospital ng Imus supervised by Imus City Health Office Medical Office IV, Dr. Ferdinand Mina.

Pfizer-BionTech is one of the two vaccines with emergency use authorization for 12 to 17 years old issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration.
