LUCENA CITY - Ex-La Salle Green Archer basketball player Mark Don Victor Alcala garnered nearly two-thirds (65.08%) votes-- two of every three registered Lucena City voters-- in a recent poll survey.

The study carried out by the Social Media Survey Enterprises, Inc. early this year showed the young Alcala as likely landslide winner in the May 2022 vote, with mayoralty hopeful Romano Talaga notching 13.32 percent; Philip Castillo 5.61 percent and Sunshine Abcede with 2.52 percent.

Survey pollsters carried out the study in Lucena City's 33 barangays, and queried 1,426 registered voter-respondents of their choice as the city mayor.

The young Alcala played for the DLSU varsity team and earned a degree in Business Management. He was also appointed as Youth Ambassador for the Lucena city government serving on its Local Youth Development Council.

The young Alcala seeks to fit out more facilities and add more courses offered by the Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena. He added that such measures need careful study and planning before actual implemention.

He noted that the local tertiary school has gained recognition not only in the region but throughout the nation.
