IMUS CITY, Cavite - The city government has injected up to 369,296 vaccines against Covid-19 in residents since the beginning of their vaccination program.

Based on city government data, that number includes 200,936 vaccines allocated for the first dose, and 168,360 for the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine by registered residents.

According to Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi, the local government will continue to work with frontliners and healthcare workers to further increase the number of vaccinated people in their city to achieve the target herd immunity.

Meanwhile the number of active Covid-19 cases in Calabarzon continues to decline, based on data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 4A.

From more than 40,000 cases recorded in September to the first day of October, there are now only 23,193 active Covid-19 cases in the entire region.

This is due to the increase in the recovery rate and the continuous decrease in the number of new cases of the disease. According to the office, from more than 3,000 to 4,000 new cases recorded per day last month, it has dropped to no more than 3,000 in recent days.

Today, the DOH continues to encourage the public to get vaccinated when the opportunity arises and to adhere to minimum public health protocols even after being vaccinated to still prevent the spread of Covid-19. (via Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi Facebook Page and FC, PIA4A)
