TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — At least three commercial establishments in Cavite province received the Bagwis Seal of Excellence from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite Provincial Office.
According the DTI-Cavite, one big retail and wholesale supermarket and two micro enterprises in the province were awarded the Bagwis Award for upholding the rights of consumers and practicing responsible business.
Puregold Naic bagged the Bagwis gold after it successfully complied with the requirements of fair trade laws, consumer welfare desk (CWD), social responsibility, and alignment to ISO 9001.
Meanwhile, Delfa’s Food Products, Inc. and Amira’s Buco Tart Haus, recognized in September and October respectively, received the Bagwis silver seal.
These MSMEs are Cavite’s home-grown enterprises being beneficiaries of DTI’s programs such as the shared service facilities (SSF), according to DTI-Cavite.
The recognition would serve as an initiative for other enterprises to participate in DTI’s drive to promote consumer rights and protection.
“We are very proud that in Cavite, we already have these enterprises who now serve as our partners in protecting the welfare of our consumers,” added DTI Cavite Provincial Director Revelyn Cortez.
The DTI-Bagwis Program gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for money.
The program also encourages the setting up of consumer welfare desks or an equivalent customer relations office inside the mall that will provide information to consumers and serve as a mechanism for the speedy resolution of consumer complaints. — Ruel Francisco, PIA Cavite
