CAVITE CITY - A family driver went missing in Cavite after stealing his employer's car and about P1-million in cash.

The culprit, identified as Roy Pader, 41, was apprehended after reportedly posting the stolen money on social media.

Pader appeared to be in a nightclub with a woman next to him, as shown in another photo. Pader was photographed inside a motel with multiple 'escorts,' whom he claimed he just assisted, in a separate post.

"Bawat ulo po nagbigay lang ako ng tig-P4,000, apat po yung huli kong kasama. Pambibili lang ng gatas at diaper ng anak nila," the suspect said.

According to the police report, Pader served for seven months as his employer's family driver and trustee.

Authorities arrested the suspect at a motel where he checked in and fired a .45 caliber gun at him.

The van stolen by the suspect was also recovered and he ransomed it to his employers in exchange for P250,000.

Pader said he committed the crime out of desperation. They allegedly work 24 hours a day and are paid only P4,000 per week.

"Nagsisisi naman, sir, dahil nakagawa ng pagkakamali," Pader said.

Currently, the police are looking for another alleged accomplice of the suspect.

From January to September 2021 the total number of carnapping incidents in the country is estimated at 1,281, according to police.
