BATANGAS CITY - The first day of the “Bayanihan Bakunahan” program was flooded at the designated vaccination sites of the city government, November 29.
This is in compliance with the Executive Order of President Rodrigo Duterte declaring November 29-December 1 as National COVID-19 Vaccination Days aimed at vaccinate 15 million Filipinos to achieve the country's target of 70% herd immunity.
The city has prepared seven vaccination sites including the Batangas City Convention Center, Alangilan Covered Court, San Isidro Covered Court, Ilijan Covered Court, Bolbok Covered Court, SM City Batangas and Xentro Mall.
According to the City Health Office (CHO), approximately 15,000 people are targeted to be vaccinated each day.
In this regard, there are boats designated for free boarding of Island barangays of the city who wish to be vaccinated.
According to Vanessa Valenzuela, a 14-year-old student from Barangay Banaba South, she has wanted to get vaccinated for a long time because she knows the importance of being vaccinated.
He said he believes that there is a greater chance that everything will return to normal if everyone gets vaccinated.
“Niyaya ko agad ang aking ina para samahan ako na magpalista sa barangay at hindi ako nakaramdam ng takot magpabakuna dahil mas takot ako na mahawaan ng virus,” said Valenzuela.
Meanwhile, vaccinators from November 26 - December 1 can win a Noche Buena package in a raffle promo prepared by the local government. (PIO Batangas City)
