LUCENA CITY - These days when voluptuous has turned voluminous, fit is fat, flabby rather than lovely as norm, showcasing bodies that celebrate authentic psyche and sinew is a struggle, a tough scrounging for funds.

Whatever it takes, the New One Fitness Group of Lucena City wants to show that human bodies-- with proper care, regimen, and training-- can be a pleasing sight, a form to emulate.

NOFG founding president Allan Garcia and youth president Jeremy Lloyd Jeremy Ordoña and their membership went ahead with the project, garnering 17 candidates in the men's division, and nine in the women's division.

For three years, NOFG, a part of the Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP) of the National Youth Commission has held the fitness pageant, beginning 2019 before the pandemic outbreak.

This year's edition of the pageant was held at the Pacific Mall Event Theater last December 19 that saw men's division winners John Emmanuel Arenas of Ronnies Gym taking the top spot.

Ian Ralph de Villa of 7 Axis gym was named first runner up with Dennis Ramos of Dalahican gym taking second runner up honors.

In the women's section, Kate Desaluna of Ronnies Gym took the crown, with Bettany Anne Meraña who did home workouts as 1st runner up, and Maryrhose Dapol of Mascu Gym emerging as 2nd runner-up.

NOFG spokesman Nioan Garcia that the event, a showcase of bodies beautiful, seeks to urge people into working out, doing exercises to be healthy and have eye-pleasing bodies... "lalo na sa kabataan para makaiwas sa mga 'di-kaaya-ayang gawain at bisyo. Ang advocacy po kasi ng group maibahagi ang fitness in all ages."

Nioan added that "we're thinking of having a portion called Biggest Loser para magbawas ng timbang, upang mabago ang katawan at maging fit."
