DOH in Calabarzon, records 1,719 new Covid-19 cases, active cases over 7K



CALAMBA CITY, Laguna -The number of active Covid-19 cases in Calabarzon has risen to 7,544, according to the Department of Health (DOH) Region 4-a, which recorded 1,719 new cases.

Since the pandemic began in 2019, the total number of Covid-19 victims in the region has reached 380,207, according to the agency.



The highest number of new cases was recorded in Cavite province at 1,188, followed by Laguna-349, Batangas-139, Quezon-27, Lucena City-11, and Rizal with 5 new cases.

Meanwhile, an additional 24 patients were reported to have recovered from the disease while four were reported dead.



In total, the total number of patients cured will reach 380,207 while the number of deaths in calabarzon due to covid-19 has reached 12,687.

DOH 4-A continues to call on the public to strictly follow minimum public health standards such as wearing a face mask and regular hand washing to prevent the spread of the disease.



It also advises those who have not been vaccinated to get vaccinated to have protection against the chronic symptoms of Covid-19 amid rising cases of the disease and also because of the threat of the omicron variant.

DOH 4-A also encourages fully vaccinated people to inject a booster shot as additional protection against Covid-19. (with reports from PIA LAGUNA)
