BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas Provincial Government will continue its active vaccination campaign through the deployment of vaccination buses and mobile clinics managed by the Provincial Health Office.
At the weekly joint meeting of the Batangas Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 (IATF) and the Provincial Health Board, Batangas Governor DoDo Mandanas stated this.
The vaccination program in the DREAM Zone, Capitol Compound, Batangas City, was temporarily suspended due to a high number of COVID-19 cases among frontliners and Capitol employees working at the vaccination center.
In the latest record released by the IATF, it appears that 26 health personnel belonging to the vaccination team tested positive, along with the increase in the number of positive cases in the Capitol offices.
Although more limited in number, vaccination buses and mobile clinics are ready to serve local government units in the province, particularly those living in remote communities who find it difficult to go to designated vaccination areas, as well as vaccination in the elderly and handicapped.
In this way, it is expected that the momentum of Batangas will not be delayed and cut off in relation to the importance of vaccination to the general population of the province.
The provincial government has also issued a resolution and directive, stating that in addition to the ongoing vaccination campaign, it will implement strict compliance with the previously issued Resolution 148-B, Series of 2021, of the National IATF, which stipulates vaccination regulations. status of workers.
Based on data from the National Vaccine Operations Center, the province has enough vaccines for all eligible employees in the public and private sectors.
Under the mandate, employees who serve on-site are encouraged to have complete vaccinations.
The said resolution also clarified that those who remained unvaccinated workforce for reasons of religious belief, health and self-belief cannot be fired from their jobs. Instead, they are required to undergo a weekly RT-PCR or Antigen Test, which they personally will shoulder and will not be answered by employers, whether in private or public service.
