According to PRO Calabarzon, checkpoints were set up in other areas of the region at the same time to be guarded by uniformed police officers.

The purpose of the checkpoints is to apprehend individuals carrying firearms, explosives, and other weapons, in accordance with the existing election gun ban.

PRO Calabarzon added that it also aims to ensure the security of the public and candidates for the upcoming elections in May.
