LOS BAÑOS, Laguna - The Los Baños Municipal Government, led by Mayor Antonio "Kuya Tony" L. Kalaw and through the Los Baños Tourism Office, successfully commemorated yesterday the 77th Anniversary of the "Anibersaryo ng Pagkubkob sa Los Baños" or better known as Los Baños Raid.
It was attended by Mayor Kalaw along with Los Baños Municipal Police Station Chief PLt.Col. Louie Dionglay, University of the Philippines –Los Baños Chancellor Dr. Jose Camacho Jr. and of one of our town’s proudest World War II Heroine Mrs. Sofia G. Tidon who in turn gave her testimony about their experience during World War II.
Mayor Kalaw's message is that it is important to recognize this part of our town's history so that everyone can become aware of this event and become a hero with concern and love for others and our town.
A simple but historic flower offering ceremony became the symbolic activity held at the Shrine of Bravery at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.
