LOS BAÑOS, Laguna - On January 31, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) inaugurated the Electric Los Baños Jeepney (eLBeep), which will help not only in student transportation but also in environmental preservation.

It is hoped that eLBeep will reduce various types of pollution that have a significant impact on the environment, such as gas emissions, air pollution, and noise pollution.

UPLB is the first campus to have an electronic jeep as a mode of transportation. Aside from eLBeep, the university leadership also targets to be the first to have ebikes and electronic scooters to achieve and maintain the entire university’s Green Campus.

As part of the program, the local government of Los Baños thanked the leadership of Mayor Antonio Kalaw for another project that will also provide assistance and benefits to the people of Los Baños.
