LUCENA CITY - A Disaster Preparedness and Management Training was recently held in the city of Lucena, led by the Lucena PNP under the supervision of PLt. Col. Reynaldo Reyes and the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council under the supervision of its Supervising Head Francia Malabanan, in coordination with LDRRMO and other concerned offices, Sangguniang Barangays, KKDAT and ABKD officers.
Approximately one hundred participants took part in the three-day activity, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) from various barangays in the city, as well as other force multipliers and selected PWUDs.
The event focused on disaster preparedness, including the Basic Incident Command System, Water Search and Rescue, and Swift Water Rescue, all of which were facilitated by LDRRMO and BFP Lucena.
According to the leadership, it is important to provide proper knowledge and training to BPATs and force multipliers in these types of training so that they can respond immediately to unexpected disasters and calamities.
They say they are in the first line of defense, so they need to have sufficient skills in the rescue operation.
The Lucena PNP added that the implementation of this type of training only shows and their strong assistance in the survival of the Lucenahin in any tragedy.
Meanwhile, the facilitators of the said training hope that the knowledge of the participants has been enriched when it comes to disaster preparedness and that he will be their partner when their services are needed.
