BATANGAS CITY - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office (RO) IV-A CALABARZON recognized Governor DoDo Mandanas's unique contribution in continuing to show support for the said agency and action against illegal drugs, in collaboration with members of the Batangas Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

On March 4, 2022, Agents Rudyard Bartolome and Junard Hinacay formally presented to Gov. Mandanas the Plaque of Recognition, expressing the governor's fervent belief in the PDEA's mission and campaign, and extending the necessary support towards the establishment of drug-resistant and self-policing communities.

“Pinapahalagahan natin ang pagkilalang ito,” said Gov. Mandanas. “Sa katunayan, ang Lalawigan ng Batangas ay isa sa talagang nangunguna pagdating sa mga programa kontra illegal drugs.”

It will be recalled that, prior to the world being plunged into a pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, the Capitol's cooperation with the government's campaign to combat illegal drugs in the country was efficient and successful.

Here, the province, based on the 1st National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards held in 2018, achieved high functionality points to be among the more than 200 outstanding local government units nationwide recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

In the past 2020, in a report by PDEA-Batangas, it indicated that the percentage or number of drug-cleared barangays in the Province of Batangas continues to increase.

In 2021, 25 City and Municipal ADACs of the province scored high functionality points, according to the 2019 ADAC Performance Audit conducted by DILG Batangas.

Gov. Mandanas continues to believe that focusing on the country's drug problem rather than dealing with the trials brought by COVID-19 will have a greater and negative impact on every single citizen.

For him, good governance and continuous programs focused on the suppression of illegal drugs will lead to healthy, peaceful, and safe communities.

Meanwhile, the governor also called for and encouraged the continued cooperation of everyone in the ongoing anti-drug campaigns of their respective local governments.
