BATANGAS CITY - The 2022 Joint Regional Development Council (RDC) and Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC)-CALABARZON meeting was recently held in Santa Rosa, Laguna, and was led by Batangas Governor DoDo Mandanas and Cavite Governor Juanito Victor Remulla, Jr.

Gov. Mandanas is the standing RDC Chairperson while Gov. Remulla is the RPOC Chairperson.



Part of the meeting was the adoption of the 2021 RDC Accomplishment Report and approval of the 2022 RDC Trust Fund Work and Financial Plan and proposed projects to be included or included in the Regional Development Investment Plan (RDIP) 2017-2022.

In addition, the joint meeting also facilitated the presentation and discussion by RPOC Secretary and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IV-A Director Ariel Iglesia on the implementation of the Whole-of-Nation Approach Strategy to end local communism. armed conflict throughout the CALABARZON region.



In this regard, according to Gov. Mandanas, he said, through a whole-of-nation strategy, is more sure to expand programs geared towards rebel returnees, which will be given good opportunities towards life-changing and active citizenship of society.

Department of Health Region IV-A Director Ariel Valencia reported on the current state of the region in the pandemic caused by COVID-19 where the number of reported new cases continues to decline.



In a message from Gov. Mandanas, he valued the good relationship between local government units (LGUs) and other partner agencies in having cooperation and proper communication to formulate solutions to problems especially during the pandemic.

The governor also focused on strengthening the economy to achieve economic progress. He said those who have lost their jobs will be helped and the economy will be revived with the help of more investments in various parts of the region.

"Habang bumababa ang kaso ng COVID-19 dapat maumpisahan na muli ang pagpapalago ng ekonomiya," said Governor Mandanas. He added that this will drive or promote peace and security throughout the region.

The joint RDC and RPOC meeting aims to further strengthen the relationship of the provinces in the CALABARZON Region and to enable discussion of ongoing initiatives and programs related to the economy, peace and order, and social developments, which can be included in regional and even in national development activities.
