More than 600,000 Caviteños have been vaccinated with booster shots

CAVITE CITY - More than 600,000 Cavite residents have received coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) booster shots as an additional layer of protection against the disease.

Based on the Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development Calabarzon, at least 622,339 individuals received an additional vaccine against Covid-19, equivalent to 17.55% of Cavite’s 3.5 million target population.

According to the most recent vaccination figures, 79 percent, or 2,796,943 people, have been fully vaccinated, with 2,930,131 having already received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

DOH CHD Calabarzon further reported that 406,967 individuals from the youth population have already received a total dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, the towns of Noveleta, Carmona, Indang, Alfonso, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, and Ternate recorded zero active cases for nearly two weeks on April 7, while the remaining cities and municipalities recorded ten active cases in their localities.

Despite the downtrend of Covid-19 in the province, Governor Jonvic Remulla is still closely monitoring the ongoing health crisis. He also urged his constituents to remain vigilant and prioritize health safety. (with reports from PIA Cavite)
